my NOS bars have no red? does that make them wrong?

no way to make "you guys" happy.. who is that? All the OG owners trying to build or match parts?.. isn't it obvious what's going on here.

Yea I caught that "you guys" comment also.  So multiple guys who never met agree that they think DGP resto color is off, but they are crazy.

Demon,

If putting on powder thicker solves the problem so easy how come Chip didn't just do this with Lego? Or me?
I would hazard to guess chip realizes putting powder on powder thicker was not going to change the color to what he wanted.

Chip said the color turns brown, not darker red when applied thicker.

I have read before on the Museum that you worked with Chip to perfect th Day Glo color match. I am sorry but you steered him wrong.

his powder job matched my NOS stuff, im sorry he could not match your jacked post..get over it.

you guys, meaning all the guys who think DGP is red or orange or should glow a certain color under UV  roll

I thought the double rear breaks were pretty sick.

It's fun to see the same clapped out 20$ part posted at the same price, for the 30th time. At what point will you just give it to someone who might use it?

I think some of your NOS parts are actually NEON PINK and not dayglow demon, sorry.  And if not, would you please tell me the difference between dayglow pink and neon pink?

Where are you coming up with this "Neon Pink" color from all of a sudden? lol
There's only one florescent/dayglow/neon pink color.

Trust me, somewhere somehow there is more of a neon pink in this mix that is not dayglow pink.  Hard to put my finger on it, but if I had a finger on it it would be the straight seat post that I think is pink.  Any ever through there are PINK paint variations, this would be surrounding the 86 color pink.  I'm just saying that someone is confused about the color and it's not the og owners and their memory.  Maybe there was a  variation of the pink thought to be dayglow, I dont know, but just the fact that some of you think the pink is it and believe all these nice survivors are that color is crazy.  Never do you see a good survivor that matches the redone ones.. lol.. DUH.. I'm starting to realize that there are a lot more people out there who know what actual color is though as opposed to the handful that believe it to be the other pink.  I been getting pm's for 2 months from people wishing to stay anonymous and out of it but telling me they side with me, good luck and to keep on.  But I come in here and fight with same few people... its starting to make sense big_smile  i am def not and have never been alone..

Explanation... 25 years of fading.
Not rocket science.
Again, quit using that old busted post for a color comparison. If you look closely at it... it is the bright pink in areas where it was inside of the frame as noted by Caleb. The same exact bright pink that's showing up over and over again on repowdered bikes, and all the NOS parts out there that you like to ignore. This really is getting ridiculous. I would gladly send my pink seat post to Demon to photograph with his NOS stuff if you'd like.

in 400000000000000000000000 yrs time when ALIENS have had there ships powdered day-glow, chips pink will still not fade to the same colour as the survivor day-glow pink bikes you see cos there 2 completely different colours

Not rocket science if you know about paint cool

Re: 1987 Pro Freestyle Tour Dayglo Restore

That and the whole steer tube thing drives me insane.  Why would I take a part of the bike that has a sprinkle of white base with a sprinkle of powder over it and ever try to compare that to a a translucent colors og finish.

It's already been explained that the pigment that caused the (unintentional) red shift was one of the changes in the powder over the years. So, no the new powder will never fade into a color it was never supposed to be IN THE FIRST PLACE. You are correct. cool

Demon,

1. Can you tell me all your "NOS" parts you currently have?
2. What's the difference in fading between your NOS stuff and survivor parts (banged up survivor stuff, and really clean survivor stuff)? Please explain the way your NOS parts were stored, both before you owned them, and now that you do own them.

Thanks.....
