1985 Diamondback Hot Streak

This is a 1985 Diamondback Hot Streak. I got this and a set of Tuff I's off CL for a decent price. The bike was in very rough shape. The neck was stuck bad and I had to use 2x4's to brace the forks and a 3 foot steel rod to get the neck out.  The chrome was in horrible shape with nicks, scratches and rust everywhere. I spent about 30 hours cleaning, polishing and buffer the chrome parts on a buffing wheel. I removed the 85 Decals and ordered a set of 86 Magenta Hot Streak decals from Ultra Hive. I used some extra brake calipers I had laying around and ordered some White Gyro cables off eBay. The Gyro was black but i striped the paint and polished it out and put on black decals. I did the same thing for the seat clamp.
 
This was a budget build, I got the bike with some extra parts and Tuff I's for a good price. I was able to sell the extra parts that came with it and bought others cheap or salvaged off other bikes that I bought to turn around and resell.
My total investment for this project other than time to take it from a rust bucket to where it is now was less than $40.00...
