my first score post... BIG TUBE inside
picked up this rare piece tonight from the original owner. has been as you see it in the attic for years upon years. seems to be in fantastic condition aside one ding on the TT. i know very little about GJS and big tubes other than i know they are super rare and super awesome. ive had my eye on this bike for months and the deal finally came together. i do have a few questions on it though. this big tube appears to never had the "big tube" decals applied to it, only the "made by GJS" decals on the rear tubes and lower part of the seat tube. having my eye on this for a while, ive been looking on and off for decals. i know theyre beyond hard to find but does anyone have any leads or should i leave it without since it seems to never had them anyway. i have only seen a handful of these bikes around and only one other in chrome on another members post here, and i believe theirs is a team model. so would we assume possibly that the chrome ones were the team edition or was it more a parts list making it a team like the haros did? judging by the info ive seen, its surely an '85...do the numericals of the serial mean anything? i have picked up a few scores in the past but this is one i couldnt pass up and had to let yall in on it. i am stoked to finally have this in my collection.

seemingly by the looks, it looks heavy, but it tips the scale as is in the pics at a mere 7lb 2oz

Re: my first score post... BIG TUBE inside
still trying to figure that one out. the local guy here that i got it from was an old racer and even he to this day says he's never seen another. from my research, i can only follow 7 or so with this one inlcuded. the serial on this one is "B140". not sure what any of it means either.

Re: my first score post... BIG TUBE inside
They came black, white, blue and chrome. The "team" editions had smaller tt,s and bt's.The fat tubed ones were all MS. Nice score!it likely had decals and were removed,as they scratched super easy. The " big tube " decs on my forks and BT were nearly gone in less than a year on my bike.![]()
Love the GJS!
