these pedals were barely used, i filed and sanded just a lil bit, they look like new. i did buy a set of repop black pads and end caps but the priginals actually all look better so ill probably use the originals unless i find NOS end caps like the set on page one.

the parts on the bottom right are the repop ones.

TIP: Removing the pads is very easy if you get these needle nose pliers, the curve makes it much easier to release the back tabs from the pedal body.
Beautiful build BTW!

took a NOS green/white nippon and powdered is black, then detailed the lettering and polished all the hardware. MINT!
this is an 86/87 with allen head pivot bolt. my 387**** frame set came with this one on it, ann a few other 86 dated parts.

Re: 1987 GT pro freestyle tour TEAM MODEL, project
here is some standers i had sanded here and there. no damage was deep the bike had been barely used but there was some lite marks and washer marks from the bolts.
you dont wanna sand to much and ruin the GT stampings. you can see i left a lil bit of indentation and the far side of the circle is still there. after seeing them powdered i could have went a touch more, the stamps are still nice and visable.

What are you using to clean your hardware, other than degreasing it? Most people are using different types of acid, on the chrome, but that doesn't seem to work well, on galvanized seat guts. It removes the rust, but makes the coating darker. Are there any soaking methods, for small aluminum parts, verses polishing them? I don't think acid is a wise choice, for aluminum.

check out tumblers ![]()
no soaking, no chemicals. just walnut shells and a spoon full of mothers polish, results will vary and some prep work may be necessary.

Chris, thats awesome! thanks. yea i had compared some NOS and restored and my restored ones actually looked better, the only differance i notice is the detailed lettering is not as nice on the originals.
i dont have any extras right now.

Re: 1987 GT pro freestyle tour TEAM MODEL, project
ok before i show more parts, i suppose i should post the frame set all this cool stuff will be bolted on to.
this is an early frame set with march serial number. the frame, fork, bars, post are all original to each other as are many of the parts i will be useing. ill post a complete list later.
here is it, this had no damage and was barely used. another imaculate powder job from C4labs..
the serial was stamped super lite, one of the litest ive seen. the FS is very deep.
