Re: FYI: Don't put JMC as a tag in your Ebay listings
Keyword spammers probably think they will get more bidders by doing that, but in fact it might even backfire. Personally, when I see a listing that goes like this: "GT Mallet Stem CW Revcore Hutch GT JMC Kuwahara" I immediately think "stupid spammer" and I move on. Usually, people who post stuff like that are selling crap anyways, because if you have good stuff, you won't need 50 unrelated keywords to sell it. JMO
I GOT 99 PROBLEMS and you NOT LEAVING A FEEDBACK is one of them.

Why doesn't the title read "FYI: Don't keyword spam in your Ebay listings" as that's what you got dinged for?
This thread title is misleading, now I'm looking at a thread about keyword spam instead of JMC stuff... wait... DANGIT! You're at it again!
Oh your bike doesn't have a scratch on it?
Tell me again what the best parts are.

Thermal count is rising, In perpetual writhing. The primordial ooze, And the sanity they lose. Awakened in the morning, To more air pollution warnings. Still we sleepwalk off to work, While our nervous systems jerk. Pretending not to notice, How history had forebode us. With the green house in effect, Our environment was wrecked. Now, I can only laugh, As I read our epitaph. We end our lives as moles, In the dark of DAWN PATROL

You should wash your mouth out with a douche for insulting Jim Melton! Jim is one of the nicest people you could ever meet.
Jim owns the JMC name and has every right to have a listing like that removed.

Only put JMC in your title if there is an actual JMC part or bike you are selling. Otherwise, don't use words that don't apply to what you're selling. ![]()

Remember that not all persons shopping eBay for old school Bmx parts are "experts" on the subject like everyone here and actually learn about old brands they've never heard of. I've learned that way for years about vintage stereo equipment and all sorts of other things, including brands of defunct Bmx parts makers. It's all about maximizing your earning potential.
Will trade for Vinyl.

Learning about other brands or educating new members to the hobby is what this and a few other sites are all about. Ebay is a marketplace for buying and selling. I highly doubt someone looking for a 78' Motomag is going to see your auction and go, oh he put Skyway in the title, I better search ebay for those and learn more about them. All it does is piss the people off that are looking for JMC, Skyway. GT etc and find your motomag with nothing to do with those brands.
If you want to maximize your earning potential, take good quality pictures, notice the time/day your auction ends and describe you item the best and most honest way possible.

One of our very own members here is hocking repro or "tribute" stuff on ebay using keyword spamming like Cooks Bros, CBR, CW ect while the product has nothing to do with those companies except using their old designs. You can find his items here for sale too so I'll let you all do the detective work. ![]()
