I have a friend from venezuela visiting on October and the plan is to go to the UCI Disney Cup Pro Finals on Saturday the 28th... Is this event happening in Barnett Park? (Not even sure if it is the same place) AND Would it be a good idea to do it that same weekend?

I think this would be cool since there will already be people there and we haven't really put a lot of planning into this. ![]()
Maybe a downtown ride Friday night with a show/swap meet at the park Saturday? Or park Saturday, ride Sunday? If that sounds good I can call the park next week and see if there is a pavilion available. Not sure how they are layed out...I guess just try to get one close to the track?

Yes Juan, that is the same place. Ferrand Drive is in Barnett Park which is the infamous and lovely Pine Hills area of Orlando. This could work out nicely.
Escaped Detroit and lived to tell about it...
My main ride: '88 RL-20II survivor.
Once, there was group ride in Billings Montana...only one dude showed up...

Re: BMX BIKETOBERFEST! Orlando, Fl
I did a little recon run today through this park. It's funny...I have been in Orlando for 20 years and have never been back there before. I was a little surprised at how nice it is. Pavilion #1 is just down from the track (short walk) and would be a great place if it is available. I am thinking it probably isn't but if everyone is good with that Saturday I will call Monday and see.
There are plenty of grassy areas we could probably use if not. We would just need to make sure we don't park on the frolf course!
I am also not sure how it will be with an event like this going on...it was quiet there today.

Re: BMX BIKETOBERFEST! Orlando, Fl
Usually big events there is a parking fee and you park outside the park, between the flea market and the track. You need to look into that. I doubt we`ll be able to use the track if there is a natonial race. There is plenty of open grass/field around the track so renting a pavilion won`t be nessesary if we`re not cooking something.

It would be very ironic if I had to miss this. I generally have to work the weekend before Halloween.

Re: BMX BIKETOBERFEST! Orlando, Fl
Well all the pavilions are booked that weekend so I guess it doesn't matter. According to the flyer parking is $5.00 per day, but the issue I see is if we wanted to do it as a show/swap meet it might be difficult because of the logistics of getting all of your stuff from the parking lot to where we would set-up if you bring multiple bikes or parts to sell/trade. The park info desk was not real helpful so I assume whoever runs the event or the track must handle all of the parking. Any ideas or suggestions?

There is no event planned. We could descend en mass on old school bikes at the Disney cup, but I wouldn't bring more than one bike.

I'll be going to the Disney Cup, but no bike... I'll keep an eye for you guys if only to say hi.
Also, will be meeting with Mike Buff the first week of November in Orlando, maybe we could plan a ride to visit him ![]()

Ah...yeah. I assume you are talking about the 5th-11th? That week is a little crazy for me...Las Vegas, Tacoma, back to Orlando and then out at Disney that weekend for the 1/2 Marathon, but I will do whatever I can to make sure I am at that ride. Any idea on a day?
Also...bringing bikes out to the Disney races sounds
