Did you build that teal RL 20 II?

Not yet Steve.   I still need to find a few parts for that badboy, BUT, I finally received my tires for the RL-20a yesterday and now I think I have everything except tubes:D!!!
Feel like putting a another Redline together for me?  Grape soda and lunch on me:D!!!   I found another bike that has all the parts I need to finish it, that bike should be here next week i'm guessing.  I need to have that one broken down, and the black one you built for me also, I need a few parts of blacky, and need to decide weather or not she is to be re-chromed or put out to sea......lots of good stuff here in the next few weeks as far as a few of my current builds go. Id be hitting you up to ride more, but not in 100 weather, this place is a swamp!!!!

Yeah it's been so hot I haven't ridden at all. It's miserable outside.

Sounds good to me as long as its Saturday night. To long of a ride for a Sunday night ride. big_smile

Shot you back a PM.

The more a D.C. ride comes together the better it sounds.  Finally got a handlebar mount for my cam, too bad it doesn't do well in low-light.

BIKEGOW is the sauce, especially on chrome!:

If I recall the roads around the Gravelly Point parking area are weird (can't get to some stuff Southbound).  Who's god good directions coming down from Bmore?

I don't know about this Saturday night ride in DC idea. Sounds pretty crazy to me. Where to park is going to be a big issue for starters. I'm sure that park must close at sundown.

Well, we had a safe place to park there and we were with someone who was VERY familiar with the area. We have neither of those things going for us here. I'm pretty sure it's illegal to be on the path at all after dark too, so the same old route isn't going to work. Exploring DC at night just doesn't sound like something I want to do. Call me old, a wussy, whatever. I'm just not really down with the idea and will more than likely pass on this ride.

They close the city at night???  I thought all that stuff is lite up at night. What it's Marshall law at night time there???  Guess I'm just use to Vegas, nite time is when the city comes to life I always thought. Is there a way to find out if they close the park???  Maybe we can do a dusk ride say around 6ish until it starts to get dark. Just busting your chops Larry, I here where your coming from, no hookers for you, jk:lol:...I think we can have you home by dark and your Volkswagen turns into a pumpkin, lol....  Nothing but love bro!!!  Just I'm a ball busting mood this morning, lol.....but for real, it gets dark at 8:30 so it should be nice from say 6-8, that gives us a couple hours to cruz around before it's too dark no???

I've had my junk grabbed by a transvestite hooker on 14th St, so yeah, I'm a little scared. smile

Seriously though guys, I'm not upset at all. Relax. I'm just saying it doesn't sound like a solid plan and I'd rather not ride around aimlessly in DC at night. If a plan comes together, I might consider joining, but for now, I'm not planning on being there. big_smile <-- See, big smile = all good. http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k124/lillare/Graphics/Smileys/emthup.gif

Re: gauging interest on a Washington DC area ride and/or meet.

A night ride in DC sounds like a "MUST DO", but looks like the details may need to be flushed out some more  sad

Found this YELP site with some contributed info bout the Gravelly Point parking:
http://www.yelp.com/biz/gravelly-point-park-arlington

While none of this is official, sounds like the park is "technically" CLOSED at 10PM, and there may be some trail restrictions too.  I'll do some research and look at some alternative parking approaches, but even then a few test rides might be in order before opening it up.

Tough to find bulk parking in about any big city.
