1981 Team Schwinn

Back in early 1980 the Schwinn Phantom Mag Scrambler i rode was scrambled when i was hit by a car. We salvaged parts and replaced the frame with a Team Schwinn stand alone and Tange TX-1200 pinched forks plus a bunch of Suntour and Shimano parts. The only parts that are the same from that one and the one here is the Suntour stem, Skyway Tuff IIs, and the frame. Here's the parts break down:
NOS Mini-Sting forks, NOS DC MX-900s & Tech 2 lever, Powerlite Pro bars, Sugino cranks, chainring and spider, Ame tri grips, Viscount MX seat, new school Redline Seat post, Animal seat post clamp and brake cable, Victor "KKT Lightning" pedals.

Re: 1981 Team Schwinn

awesome, really clean , era correct build. i love the clean look of all blue parts, and its setup with real world parts, as would have been seen around my area in the early 80's. great job.

Re: 1981 Team Schwinn

Thanks vettefan. It being my first old school build I think it came out nicely. My old one wasa mish mash of parts and done in chrome blue and yellow.

I have a '81 Supergoose on the way,  '80 or '81 Redline MXII, '82 Kuwahara E.T., '79 Mongoose Motomag and a '81? CBR.

Re: 1981 Team Schwinn

What the heck happened to my post title.

The frame I built up is not a Mini-Sting frame. THe only thing that is mini-Sting are the forks because they were the only Schwinn forks I could find that could fit the 4" head tube and not have the straight blade dropouts.

That is a Team Schwinn frame.

Am I missing something?
