i like the wilkerson set-up. where i came from, if you weren't loaded, one piece cranks were a fact of life. seems they aren't represented enough in todays '80's' builds. they were competent cranks too.

Most freestyle guys (even a lot of factory riders who could get whatever cranks they wanted) ran OPCs for te simple reason that they were very maintenance free.  Personally, the only bikes that IMO MUST have 3 pc cranks on them are Profiles and Redlines, for reasons that should be fairly obvious.

If you check any old mag the 90% of the pros ran opc. They are simple and strong and if you do bend them a lot cheaper to replace.

ED209, that's pretty much the bike that I pictiured when I was collecting for mine.  I posted these pics somewhere else.  Here they are again.  I just haven't put it together yet.  And like all the other bikes that I collect for - Who knows if it ever will.  Here's my "Build in a box":

Re: WILKERSON AIRLINES (WAL) RIOT - Lets See Em! Need Some Ideas!

Here's photos of one of my older Wal's in rebuilding .
I was good friends with Ron from around 88" on , of you have seen " non stop to San Francisco " I filmed most of that video as a kid and you can hear me talking when we get pulled over somewhere in west Texas !

My first pre-990 mount WalRiot was stolen from behind a friends house one day wile I was at school.
After that Ron was able to help me get the first all red striped frame available .
I still have my red frame in almost NOS condition .
But after my chrome bike was stolen I longed for my old bike back .
After a friend wanted to sell his chrome striped frame I re-stickerd it with arrow decals and ride this bike for the majority of my high school years .

It's pictured with my second set of SanQuenton bars my black set exploded after a roof drop.
The seatpost is a cut down Elf re-stickerd as a Wal "prototype" , I also have my orignal VG seatpost clamp headset lock and sprocket pocket .
The forks pictured are first gen King forks made by Stuarts dad at Lola racing in Britin from T-45 steel.
I hope to have this bike comple very soon !

Wow I don't know how I missed this one! Really cool story and great looking parts! But man... That fork! A Lola built fork! Soooo rad!

One of my great regrets was not buying a Lola T-330 about 10 years ago. It was an F5000 car that had been converted to a single seat Can-Am car with a Frissbee body. And it was (relatively) cheap!

Now Lola is gone... RIP Lola Cars Ltd.

Again, awesome WAL and awesome back story!
