1980 SE Racing P.K. RIPPER

There were three bikes I always wanted as a kid. A Redline, Schwinn Sting and a Pk Ripper. None of which I could afford.  I ended up building bikes from different parts I had found, on spring cleanup day, bikes that were given to me, garage sales, or the dump. I managed to buy a brand new Schwinn SX 1000 in 1979, which I still have and love more than anything.  Now that I’m older with an income, I am slowly building the bikes I had only once dreamt of. This was my all-time favorite, the PK Ripper in Baby Blue. I have been working on this bike for several years now, and have finally completed it! I hope you all like it. The bike has unstamped landing gear , NOS Dia compe MX 1000 front and rear brakes, skyway finned brake pads, Tuf Neck Pro Neck, NOS Pro Neck stem pad, Suzie Hubs, Ukai rims, Original Se Racing seat post, NOS Tuf Neck Seat post clamp, Kashimax Aero seat, Sugino 170 cranks, Sugino chain ring, AME waffle grips NOS handlebar pad, CW handlebars . Everything I would have wanted back in the day. This bike hangs on my wall, and is a pleasure to look at. I love it more and more every day!

Great bike brother, but if your dream was to own one when you were a kid, that dream was to ride it also. Dont deprive yourself of that experience. Trust me on this one, everyday you are whole is a great day. Get it off the wall and around the block. If you were to lose the ability to use your legs, that bike you never rode wouldnt be a dream to look at. It would be a nightmare you didnt ride:)

Re: 1980 SE Racing P.K. RIPPER

Awesome PK. My 84 SE Blue PK Ripper was the first bike I ever bought with my own money. I was
was ten years old and mowed a lot of lawns, washed lots of cars and had to get OK grades in school
for a extra $10. That PK was my baby and I raced my PK from 84 to 91. In 95 I rode it for the first time since 91. On that day my best friend Kenny and I rode all over town having a great time. Kenny
wanted to stop at a store to buy something and we went in for about five or so minutes. When we came out my baby my PK RIPPER was gone. No,I didn't have a lock. Yes,I feel stupid for not having
a lock. It still makes me sick that someone jacked my PK. I just hope I find it so I can ride it again. I really dig your PK RIPPER it's a beautiful racer and great job. Josh

I don't know what I'd do if anything ever happened to my girlfriend. But first, I'd
probably burn my clothes....
I'm wasting my time trying to come come up with a good quote, so, out of anger, I'm going to waste your time by having you read this one.... Mr T pities the emos, thats why they're sad...

+1 ... Ive just broken my pelvis in 4 places, 3 of them at the hip joint. I'm not sure how long it will be before I can ride again, nor do I know the long term effects of my injury will have on how I ride. I have ridden all my bikes bar 1 and I now wish I had.... it will be first I ride when I can !!!!!

Get it off the wall and ride it .... wink

Well done on the build,, it is simply stunning !!!!!
