1982 Nishiki Interceptor
1982 Nishiki Interceptor
Pretty much OEM, but set up to look like a Redline MX II
I have had this bike for over 2 years, but just found out what it actually is (what a relief).
Frame: 1982 Nishiki (Interceptor), serial WB000002, Tange Forks.
Full set of (OEM?) Redline MXII decals.
Padset is weird. I always saw them as white pads with red writing, not like these ones, maybe repros??
UKAI rims, Suzue hubs, Mitsuboshi Compe II tyres, Uzumi chain, Shimano 333 freewheel.
Jaguar seat, super light seat pole, Tange seat clamp.
Suntour headlock. Tange headset, Nitto MX-7 gooseneck, Redline stamped v-bars, Oakley F1 grips.
Takagi 3 piece cranks, Shimano DX pedals, Dia Compe Tech 3 levers / MX1000 calipers.
At first glance, looks like a Redline MXII. All that was really changed over was decals and pad set.
Fairly high end parts.

Re: 1982 Nishiki Interceptor
Thanks for your comment. Of the very few I have now seen, they had pretty much the same group set, except all others had the gold Suntour power stem and gold Takagi Tourney cranks with KKT gold pedals. If you don't have a reference for your build, you have one now! Cheers, David:)
