1994 Reynolds Racing Fresh 40

***SOLD***
One of the originals from Dr. Smooth's now defunct company!

Shortly after I first started racing and began riding seriously in the Chi-Town Suburbs, I met Craig Reynolds through a mutual friend, Tim Dinger. Tim, as well as many local riders at the time, rode Reynolds frames. They looked awesome and the geometry was right on, especially for me at 6' tall. Once I got my first Reynolds, I loved it. I had a few along the way. Unfortunately I got rid of all of those frames throughout the years. I'm now rebuilding my collection, starting with this frame and ending with my 2001-2002 Mongoose CRX. Eventually, they should all be spec'ed out similar to how they were when I rode them. This one will be no exception.

But, as for now...here's the build:

-1994 (I think...I recall...but I can't be 100% sure) Reynolds Racing Fresh 40 XXL Frame (1" headtube, canti-mounts)

-1994 Free Agent Fork

-Tioga Headset

-DK Pro Stem

-DK Pro Race Bars

-GT Elite Seatpost Clamp

-GT Seatpost

-Hardcore Machine Works Seat Guts (Anyone remember these?)

-Selle Italia Flight Seat w/ Ti rails

-Play Pads (circa 1998)

-Shimano Cantilever Brakes

-DiaCompe MX-88 Lever

-ATI Pistol Grips

-Sun Rhyno Lite rims laced to no name sealed f/f hubs

-Tioga Comp III Tires

-Redline Proline Cranks

-Wellgo Platform Pedals

-Redline Sprocket (39t)

Thanks Brucie P. for the hookups!!!

Re: 1994 Reynolds Racing Fresh 40

I would have to agree completely. Craig is such a good guy, too. He was always great to ride with track or trail and was always a true professional especially toward young riders. What a role model...not to mention smooottttttthhhhhhh!

Thanks for the comments, guys!

What pink? The bike is white and the pads are burgundy. Not too sure I know what you mean, man.

Thanks for the comments!

Re: 1994 Reynolds Racing Fresh 40

Hardcore made some pretty overbuilt stuff but the kids around here loved it...stems, seat guts, and seatpost clamps. These guts were popular at a time when 7/8" microadjust posts were WAY too easy to break.

Thanks for noticing.

Re: 1994 Reynolds Racing Fresh 40

I love the build.
I had a set of the Hardcore guts back in the day on my S&M Holmes, been looking to replace them ever since. I didn't know they made stems, I'd like to see one.

Re: 1994 Reynolds Racing Fresh 40

I use to race with dinger back in the day at elchorn.  He knew my buddy tim vrska what a great group of guys never a dull moment.  All my buddies rode hardcore seat guts back in the day.  I have been searching for a set for years now, good to see people still enjoying them today.

Re: 1994 Reynolds Racing Fresh 40

Sweet ride, I remember seeing a few of these on Sunday mornings over at our local BMX track. The DK 4pc bars take me back a few years....those were always cool. I wish I would have kept the pair I used to have. Anyhow, great bike man!
