Diamondback Serial Numbers???

Is there any way to decode a D/B serial number?

#  F3102***  The third digit looks more like a backwards C.

I checked OS-DB, didn't find much except in the history.  Most likely a Taiwan made.
Maybe ivegotabike has more info, I bought it from him.

Re: Diamondback Serial Numbers???

It is definitely a Taiwan made frame.Your serial is on the bottom bracket, right?Japanese serials are on the inside of the dropout, and have the baseball symbol at the end.The F3 in your serial stands for Formosa[Taiwan],1983.

No, I didn't spend hours pouring over the material.  I never thought to search for Serial # info under coaster brake and freewheel.
Thanks for the links.

No worries, though the serial overview is under Reference > additional reference > serial numbers and not withing specific areas on models because they are not unique.
