1985 Slingshot
The 7th Slingshot frame made in 1985
This was my project for the 2010 Winter Build-Off. I got the frame years ago from Jeff Haney. The paint was shot, but there weren't any dings or dents and the dropouts were in great shape. The build-off just got me off my a$ to build it, and I'm really glad I did!
I remember when these were sold at Freewheeler Bike Shop in Grand Rapids, Michigan, but I never bought one because at the time, I had a paper route income! My buddy used to race for Freewheeler's team, and he was given one of these to race with. I got to ride it a few times and thought it was sweet!

I can't believe I'm seeing two Slingshots posted the same day. And to top if off, by the same person?!?! Holy smokes!
These bikes are really cool. I dig bikes that have something that sets them apart from the others. Functional art is what these bikes are.

Another great build Bob, glad you posted these. Serial no 7 for 1985, nice. The pictures are good, but bike looks even better in person. Good to see more Slingshots surfacing.
