Re: MIDWEST BMX FEST
Even though its a bike event, any chance of some skate demos? Bands? Looking over at the field, maybe set it up for some racing? Just some thoughts, Nick...

im trying to make it! its probably a 5 hour drive from st. louis??? probably more actually? i wont be showing or swapping anything, but hoping to find something cool to buy. most likely an impulse purchase! im wanting to just hang and ride plenty! something was mentioned earlier about a tour at Standards shop?? that would be fun!
any word on possible types of bands? anything hardcore, punk or metal would be awesome!

Re: MIDWEST BMX FEST
May 26th sounds like a plan...ill be there
When I go biking, I repeat a mantra of the day's sensations: bright sun, blue sky, warm breeze, blue jay's call, ice melting and so on. This helps me transcend the traffic, ignore the clamorings of work, leave all the mind theaters behind and focus on nature instead. I still must abide by the rules of the road, of biking, of gravity. But I am mentally far away from civilization. The world is breaking someone else's heart.

These ideas sound perfect Nick!! Definately need a Standard class, since Davenport is Standard Country and it sounds like there will be a lot of them!! I am bringing at least 5 of them, and am talking to another Marshalltwon member about bringing another 2-3 as well. So that is at least 8 just from just Marshalltown!! Plus I am sure Auburn_Fanatic and Mitter will be bringing their SBC's too............
Although, for the 80's and 90's you might want to split them up with a race and freestyle class for each decade(for example 80's race/ 80's freestyle).
I like the idea for the show corral as well, since I plan on spnding most of the day riding and meeting people so I was wondering who was going to watch the bikes that I wasn't riding.

Re: MIDWEST BMX FEST
Hey guys, we need to sell some warbird raffle tickets or and get some monatary donations coming. We could use the money for postage to get vendors and send donation letters out to local area sponsers about the midwest bmx fest. Some money right now can make us a ton at the fest. We are having a bad year so we need all the help we can get. $ can help us with permits and all the needed items for the fest, plus we got bikes to finish!

Re: MIDWEST BMX FEST
Ladies and Gentleman. The Midwest bmx donation program has gotten some more oppertunitys this year to show off our work and get more BMX exposer out in the public's eyes. As you keep reading we had a bad last year building bikes, so we are getting out more to promote. Problem is that we need some stuff and the program is strapped for funds. We could use a new banner to hang out, stuff for flyers, More professional looking shirts, exc. If you would like to help us grow, monatary donations are very much needed. you can paypal us at orangesvtfocus03@aol.com and type in "program" YOU CAN NOT USE ANY WORDING OF DONATION IN PAYPAL or send us a check or money order. Doing this now will help make huge funds are the next few shows we do, and the MIDWEST BMX FEST. Any questions please send us a PM...
Sorry for my spelling, Im tired as all heck!!! LOL

Hey guys. I noticed at a few shows, kids and wifes dont have stuff to do, they get impatient and want to leave. The wife is working on stuff to really make this a family event. While all of us guys are talking bikes and riding, what do the kids and moms do? The wife is trying to see about having some stuff there for them also. Like scentsy booth, massages for riders and wifes. Bouncy house for the kids. Stuff like that. Hit me with your ideas so we can get some plans rocking...

I am planning on making the trip. I also liked the idea of a survivor class, as it encourages more people to bring whatever they have, and the more the merrier. I would also love to get in on the Standard tour as well...

OK....
Due to what I may do for throphy I dont want to have 25 classes due to expense. I want to have it fun where bikes compete against more then 5 bikes in a class with less classes..... SO...... post up your ideas on some class's to have..
BEST RACE 70'S
BEST RACE 80'S
BEST RACE 90'S
BEST RACE PRESENT
BEST FREESTYLE OVERALL -OPEN
BEST CRUSIER -OPEN
BEST STANDARD ----- SINCE ITS AT THE HOME OF STANDARD
BEST OF SHOW
BEST SURVIVOR
thats my ideas... tweek it and lets get this party rocking. easy to judge, easy to vote, easy for throphys. let all bikes battle for the win...

Re: MIDWEST BMX FEST
MIDWEST BMX FEST IS A HUGE GO!!!! 100%
I just had a meeting with the city... Since this is a family event and in a public park, NO booze will be allow. People must follow all city park rules and regs.. Should be easy to do! I have the whole skatepark area as seen in the pictures, but the dont think it will be a big show its first year, so they recomend staying on the one side of the fence on the concrete, but i do have like 750,000 sq feet of land ready if the show gets huge and we can get some big companys with some big rigs here.....
THE CITY HAS A HUGE CONCESSION STAND THAT WILL BE FULLY FURNISHED WITH ALL TYPES OF FOOD AND BEV'S.. no worries there.
So how many people plan on coming? What do you want to bring for show and swap? I need to see how much room we will need to see if i can and need to break into the other side.
I plan on having killer custom event shirts made like no other fest. Any Intrest?
Also if you plan to bring the family, so may ride some may not. If they do not, we are in down town Davenport. Within 10 Min each way is a huge mall, antique shops and everything a family will need to get lost for the day
I may also have a bouncy house for the kids, and some stuff there for the wives..
Please start tossing some comments and ideas on here, so we can get rocking this... I plan on this being huge, but its up to you guys on how huge we can make this, I have the room to make this one of the biggest events in the midwest possibly. LETS ROCK IT FOR YEAR ONE AND SHOW THE CITY WE MEAN BUSINESS!!!!!
