Re: Stuck Tuf Neck in my Hutch forks!!
You cant really hammer it out from the bottom with the wedge in there. From my experience the wedge just gets wedged worse and neither part moves. Will the wedge come out the bottom by itself? I have wrapped alot of masking tape around the stem (without cap) and hammered it upwards trying to hammer as close to the headtube as possible. Might even try to let it sit with pb blaster for a few days and spray it a few times a day.

Loosen the stem bolt as far as you can, but make sure it is still threaded. Hit the bolt with a hammer. This has yet to fail me.

From the top. Loosen the smaller bolt and hit it with a hammer. Make sure you have at least 1/4" or more unthreaded. It will come loose. I guarantee it. ![]()

Re: Stuck Tuf Neck in my Hutch forks!!
Yeah, get that wedge out of there first. It absolutely can be broken loose like Jason (jkraig) says.
After that, flip it upside down, and find the biggest socket that will fit in from the bottom. Put an extension on it, and with some solid whacks on there, it should pop out.
Whenever someone says, "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart," all I hear is, "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart."

Re: Stuck Tuf Neck in my Hutch forks!!
I had a Tuf Neck stuck in the Supergoose I picked up. Loosened the top bolt like always and smacked it from the top, nothing. Block of wood and beat the hell out of it from the top, nothing. Took everything off with just the wedge left in the fork. PB Blaster, long brass punch, couple whacks from the bottom and it came right out.

I check the WTB section almost everyday, please try and do the same.
You may hook someone up and make some money to buy more parts.

Hmmm.... that guarantee has failed me twice so far. I hammered a GT and Torker bolt, and both bent and the wedge never budged. Tried hammering wedge from the bottom, too, no success.
