1981 Schwinn Scrambler Phantom

almost all original.....

Schwinn frame/fork/bars/stem/grips/cranks/sprocket(keihin)/seat clamp, MKS rat trap pedals, Velo seat, laidback seat post, Dia Compe style brakes, Weinmann wheels, Kenda comp 3 tires. Pics are with and without chaingaurd!

Clean classic look that made Schwinn a household name in BMX. That color was a lil less common then the red ones. I would only change it to skinwall sided tires or a Carlisle Aggressor in the front and get some traditional grips from that era. You can find Oury's fairly cheap and Schwinn carried that brand.  I think they also carried Preston Petty. Well let me just break out my 78 catalog and see. In 1978 they carried Oury, Oakley and Scrambler grips with a ribbed or waffle design. (Sounds like a condom ad).

man i had a F/F just like that BITD, well ok it was more like Oct of this year. the bike came out sweet. great job Lance.

the Carlisle Aggressor would look good on the front. i also like the Oury idea, good call Racer.
