1981 Morrison Gutsy One
1981 Morrison Gutsy One
A pretty rare find
Morrison Gutsy One
Another NZ frame
One of the heaviest BMX around, but strong
Similar to a NZ 20" Grifter
20" wheels
Another frame to be stripped, this one will be powdercoated red, it will be
finished with white original morrison stickers and I have a set of yellow ozzie ACS Z-rims for it
Serial number -
.
Also found another frame recently which Im thinking is a Gutsy (blue one), but could be a Raleigh Scrambler
which I have also seen and another BMX of the same era called a Rangler, both models have 3 speed rear hubs on them...
I have notice NZ Raleigh and Morrison did some weird things back then in the 80's, swap or shared certain bikes
and copied each other, I have also seen these shaped frames labelled as NZ Vipers too
Also added the last pic, an old advertisement for some nz bmx back in the day, the Gutsy is there

That is a pretty cool looking frame. Have fun with the resto; can't wait to see it in powder.
Yes, I'm too fond of my Dart.....

Re: 1981 Morrison Gutsy One
I keep finding this shaped BMX frame popping up from time to time here in NZ
They are all labelled differently
My one I think is the Morrison Gusty One,
I also think they called them the 'Bully' at one point but I could be wrong there
I have also seen them labelled as a Raleigh Scrambler which I think
is in-correct as I think the Scrambler is a 16" size bike made by Raleigh
I have also seen this frame labelled as a viper, twice now.
I can't find much on the NZ viper, does anyone have any info to shed some light......
