Re: 1976 DG Racer

The DG logo in the gusset would seem to indicate an older bike than 1979, more like '76-'77.  Euro bottom bracket would make it a DG-1.  Nice frameset!

What is the serial number?  The early bikes were date-coded followed by a sequence number.  (i.e - J1176 555 = November 1976 - 555th frame - frame is my '76 DG2)

DG-1, DG-2 and DG-3 all came with decals that said "DG Racer".

Re: 1976 DG Racer

Hi , Gilbert in Arizona, Curious about your frame, is it 16 1/2 Inches from center of seat post to center of head set, distance measured right above the top tube of frame. Also what is your serial # on bottom of crank case DG --- --- ?. I believe I have the same identical frame that you have here. I'm being told mine is a 1977 by the serial #  list that is posted on here in the forum. What is yours please so that I may compare and make a better time line. Mine looks like it fit in June 1977 based on the batch order for manufacturing that year. Thanks for the help , your serial number would help narrow mine down out of a potential 200 or more bikes made. My crank case is identical to yours pictured here(ten speed size). So please measure yours and tell me your serial # DG --- --- thanks for the help! smile
