1976 AMF Evel Knievel contest giveaway bike
I've gotten this bike from the original owner, it now rests beside my other two Hoffman EK's. This is a photo of a local show I did back in February with my tribute to Evel Knievel.
Bikes history : This particular Bicycle was won from a " CHILD WORLD " in store contest in 1976.
See the vintage 70's photo of the bike and I . It was the talk of all the kids on Van Winkle Ave , being the coolest bike in the neighborhood !
This is the most sought after version from the 1970's AMF Evel Knievel bicycle line , this" Spirit Of '76" model was designed to look like Evel's motorcycle.
This edition was put on display in the Evel Knievel museum.

Re: 1976 AMF Evel Knievel contest giveaway bike
those must have been a fairly limited run. I'd never seen one until one showed up on ebay earlier in the year, he was selling a NOS seat for that model. (Is this the one that appeared as an example picture on ebay, by chance?)
The Huffy model is the only one I ever saw.
If your bike showed up at Rockford this year, you'd have a show winner.

Thanks, I don't know about the example photo but I spoke with the guy and he was a Evel collector as a child and has alot of his stuff. He also has a Schwinn he's trying to sell, I think its one from his photos with it.
I hope to bring all three next year to Rockford and I've also posted it at OS-BMX.com for the BOTY contest, wish me luck!

I just got that bike from ebay, not in that great of shape though. Does anyone know where I can purchase the plastic #1 piece that goes above the chain guard, the handle bar cushion, and decals? I plan on restoring it for my son, but man, just cant find the parts.

good luck, I've NEVER seen any of that stuff come up on the sites. Only have seen your bike and another, and a seat on ebay in the past year or so. for decals you'll probably have to get the best photos you can get, take them into a graphic shop and see what they can do you for.

Re: 1976 AMF Evel Knievel contest giveaway bike
THAT is a cherry there!
I have the exact same bike- though nowhere NEAR that condition...Sadly my rear tire JUST went flat from dryrot- imagine replacing THAT!
I got it off Craigslist for $40 last year and thought at the time, had never seen one in as good of shape, until NOW...
If by chance anyone happens to have some parts I could really use that handlebar plate....and the above mentioned rear tire!
fingers crossed....and willing to pay.

I had one of these bikes when I was a pre-teen, saved my money a long time to buy it from Kiddie City in Whiehall Pa for $100 and I also bought a Roar Power for it too, this was my pride and joy.

Updated main photo to my display at a local indoor auto show, World of Wheels, back in February. Kinda my tribute to the king.
