Ok, time for a dumb question, as you stated "The shootouts will  be age, and bike classed"  how are the bikes being  " classed"  by years  like 70s, 80s, 90s  just asking so i know what to bring to play with big_smilebig_smilebig_smilebig_smilebig_smilebig_smilebig_smilebig_smilebig_smilebig_smilebig_smile
We are talking physical age i take it tonguetonguetonguetonguetonguetonguetonguetonguetonguetongue

Re: Chicagoland Old School Shootout/ Swapmeet

The rules are simply stated...any bike that has a 1 inch headset, platform pedals(no clips) you can have bear traps, studded so on and so on. (no V brakes"direct pull" cantilever) This is all that is required of your bike. The other race is age specific as well as bike specific. Which are the same rule previously stated, and as for age. You must be 35 years or older to participate in this race.

Race 1) any age, no V brakes, platform style pedals

Race 2) 28 older, no V brakes, platform style pedals

I will be adding more information as new information come in....Don't forget your helmets smile

do you think thats a bit high? maybe it should be reconsidered? I will have to look into averages. I think 30 would be fair? what do you all say? I will revise it!

old enough to be oldschool, but young enough to ride lol

Re: Chicagoland Old School Shootout/ Swapmeet

Will these be a one moto race, or will it be 2 or 3 moto qualifier with a main?

I'm not sure I understand the point of the second race?

Wouldn't the "older" riders just get classified with each other in the OS shootout moto?

I don't think there should be an age bracket, unless there are more than 8 riders signed up. Just line 'em up and let 'em loose.

I'm still working on narrowing down this whole race thing hmm I even considered just running it the way the ABA would. But being that points races are that day I have to be respectful to those riders as well. I will consult with the track manager and find a one all solution to this quagmire. I just want everyone who wants to race be able to. But still keep the OS factor present. If anyone has any other suggestions please PM me

Oldschool Shootout Race Rules:

There will be moto's to accommodate all riders of all ages. The only thing that will be specific is the bike setup. All bikes no matter size or year must have:

1) 1inch Headset

2) Platform Pedals

3) No V Brakes

Age groups will be in two categories:

1) ages 3-27

2) ages 28+

We will accommodate all riders and place them as close as possible with there peers.(dependent on how many riders sign up)

O.G.O.A.R. T-Shirts (order):

Hey gang-

We're going to get some shirts done, and I'm thinking that a pre-order, PayPal pament is the way to go.

No deliveries on shirts, they will be given out in person on the 17th.

There will be a deadline, probably no later than the 1st of September.

Any thoughts or ideas before a writeup and order link to PayPal get underway?

I'll wait until tomorrow to get things off the ground.

Shirts will average $15, I believe, if the quantity is near 20 units.

Tentative count?

Quote this over, and over, and over ... until I post a "hook me up with a O.G.O.A.R. T-shirt!".

Eric

I think that would be a great idea Eric, way easier on your end to already be paid then to collect it all. We all appreciate your work to get them to us. I know we will need a XL and a small, paypal ready cool

Re: Chicagoland Old School Shootout/ Swapmeet

OGOARS!

I submitted the OGOAR T-shirt art to my printer, and am waiting to hear back about precise totals.

I had concern about pricing with regard to our multi-color logo, but those questions will be answered and I think it to not be a problem.

"Kelly Green" from the Fruit of the Loom commercial catalog seems to be the best bet if wanting to stick with the green colors T's.

Personally, going back to the above, I'd be afraid of "losing the green/yellow in the logo" when transferred to green T's. One of the two, the green in the logo, or the green T's, may have to be tweaked a little. Again, my printer-pro will give us the best advice and matches before things go to print, so maybe not? I'll keep everyone in the loop.

Either way, and in the end, these shirts will look bad-to-the-bone!

And as Mr. Indiana-Goose-Robby pointed out, there's not much interest on the boards. However, Earl assured that plenty of people are wanting and willing so it should be all systems go for the few of us interested here.

I'll be posing up the "official PayPal and order thread" as soon as I hear back from Mr. T-shirt about final pricing.

I'll then post in all OGOAR threads, a link to a "lone OGOAR T-shirt order thread", probably by the end of the week

Have a good one, guys!

Eric
