1988 GT Performer

1988 GT Performer brought back from the dead... SOLD 7/29/12

This bike is a nice combination of some OG parts, some mid-school parts and some new re-pop parts.  This build is for my wife.  She chose the color.  It is auto paint from a paint distributor here in Columbus, Ohio.  Here is the rundown:
OG frame--fork, bars, rear DC brake, chainwheel, seatpost clamp
Midskool stem
re-pops from Porkchop--seat, front new Nippon (which works amazing btw), brake pads, cables, grips, DC tech 77 levers (also work amazing), valve caps, flite grip donuts, chain, bottom bracket, tioga headset, cable hanger
Kenda tires from Dans
Repop post from ebay
Wheels from Mr. Wheels (Mike) here in the museum.
Repop decals from Ultrahive

Re: 1988 GT Performer

That's a very unique color for that bike. I like it. I have a very late 87 GT WT that was stickered as an 88 (by GT). I plan to get my decals from Ultrahive too. I worn mine out stepping all over the bike and dropping it practicing tricks years ago.

I love the WT's.  By far my favorite GT from that time.  You just don't see too many of them.

Re: 1988 GT Performer

Mine is chrome, but it's not the complete bike anymore. The frame was a warranty replacement from GT, and the parts are a combination of my 86 Pro Performer and what was left on the bike when I last parked it.

Re: 1988 GT Performer

Very cool!  I like your custom color.  It's very fitting for the time and i bet it would look really cool next to GT's blue, green, and pink.

Cool, a new bike.  Wait a minute.......where am I going to hide this one.  She's going to catch me for sure!!!
