1987 Haro Sport

My Sport that I've had forever. Last time I had it out I manged to crack the seattube and seat due to a halfpipe mishap (these bikes are way to easy to air on) so now I have to cut out the seattube and reweld in a new one, whenever I get around to that I'll probably restore the rest of the bike at that time.

Re: 1987 Haro Sport

Hey Hellmutt, I did the same thing. My seat tube plate was so badly cracked I had to replace it with a new one. My friend made up a plate for me. Welded it in place and now you would never know it had been changed. One tip, just try and protect your decalls because the new ones going around are Digital where as the originals you have on the bike are screen printed. Thay will last forever. Just a little advice. Oh Yea I have the 88 Blk/Blue/Chrome sport on the Museum. teamharo

Re: 1987 Haro Sport

SpeedFreak:  It's a rare color combo?  Never knew but cool smile

Teamharo:  Thanks for the tip, I already planned on putting some of that "cold putty" or whatever it's called, closer to the decal area to try and stave off some of the heat as well as other precautions.  Don't want to replace the stickers/repaint the entire thing, it will still be ridden from time to time and I don't want to have to baby it!  I also was going to use tubing with a slightly larger OD and wall thickness if possible as well as a slightly thicker plate for the area..
I'll check out your Haro right now wink

Re: 1987 Haro Sport

Yea I'm sure that Chip at C4 could make them no problem, I'd just rather keep the originals and as much original paint on the bike as possible.

Re: 1987 Haro Sport

I just rememberd, since Speed was sayin that the black/white/chrome was a more rare color combo...
My buddy still has his exact same sport over my house lol.  Keepin it for him since he moved to Florida.  So yea, 2 white/black/chrome ones to stare at, just his has the blue seat and the white Tuffs.   Anyway, here's the bunch:

Re: 1987 Haro Sport

My best riding buddy in high school had this bike, and I had the black and blue Sport.  Someone stole his out of his garage and about 2 weeks later we stopped at a 7-11 near my house, to find his Sport sitting out front.  Rather than confront the scum sucking thief and probably get in a fight, we calmly put the Sport on my bike rack (which was ALWAYS on my car) and went to the spot to go riding.

Re: 1987 Haro Sport

That white/black colour combo is awesome. I've never seen it before. Just yesterday I was saying that I was going to do my '87 FST in that combo just to be different. I guess great minds think alike (me and Bob Haro) LOL.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.
