Re: Mongoose PRO CLASS ONLY thread anyone?

Just getting back into BMX after a long LOOONG break (like since 1987). Found this one today on CL with a typo of $25 bucks. Got it plus the set of ACS Z rims for 2 bills! Nice guy original owner. Glad I found this thread. Any info on what I got?

Re: Mongoose PRO CLASS ONLY thread anyone?

Looking for some input/opinions on a RETRO Pro Class 24" build.

I've been considering having a F/F built using the 24" Pro Class for inspiration but using newer technology.
1) 1 1/8" head set
2) V-brakes
3) Possibly slightly larger tubing diameter???

But keeping the "looks" of the frame as close as possible to original and stickering it with OG frame stickers.

Absolutely Retain:
1) Looptail
2) American bottom bracket
3) 3/8" axle slots
4) Basics of where tubes all connect

I would ride the bike but my days of hard riding are over. I ride some tracks and very mildly ride local skate parks.
I've always wanted a PC cruiser but I want something I can RIDE and not care about preserving history.

I can't decide on RIMS. I LOVE the OS PC rims but want something a bit stronger to actually ride on.
Any recommendations?

Any comments, opinions and feedback is greatly appriciated...

Re: Mongoose PRO CLASS ONLY thread anyone?

I dont know if the guy is a member here or not, I know he is on vintagebmx... There was a 26" custom motomag built with billet motomags. That thing was stunning. The PC Rims are pretty tough. I have the same set from BITD on the same (now restored, shown above) expert. Those rims are super tough. They are the heavier steel version tho.
