1977 CYC Stormer

1977 CYC Stormer

Diamond cutout gusset Stormer, one of only a handful that have turned up. Most have a solid gusset or the CYC logo stamped in.

My buddy Dave had a CYC Stormer back in the good old days, so I had to build one up. This one has all the Ashtabula parts that were commonplace back in '77, the forks, cranks and stem. It has chrome CYC box bars, Hunt Wilde grips, Troxel seat, Union rat trap pedals, a chrome Wald sprocket, stamped Skyway Tuff 1's and Cheng Shin C-183 tires. Everything is original finish and original decals.

Re: 1977 CYC Stormer

This bike (frame) has already been listed in the BMX Museum.  See blindfaith420's 1979 CYC Stormer listed 2008-10-2.  Note the torn headtube decal, distinctive gusset welds, and marks on the dropout and frame near seat tube.

Re: 1977 CYC Stormer

Wow! I 've never seen one with the cut out on the gusset. I thought the 76 & 77's had single gussets? I'm always learning something new here!big_smile
