1982 California Custom 24

A Rare piece of BMX HISTORY?

Here's the Story!  I have always wanted to build a bike that nobody else had and figured this would be a great candidate. I was talking to and Really Cool BMX PRO and Still BMX ENTHUSIAST about what I wanted to do. After some time HE parted with this FRAMESET and sold it to me. A couple of people have told me that this Frameset was only sold at BMX RACE TRACKS. I now know after owning it as to how rare this piece can be, and how valuable it might be. As a kid my first BMX bike was a GIRLS HUFFY that I painted with white house paint because it was a GIRLS Colored bike and yes it was my sisters. This Bike may not have all the bells and whistles that many rare or high dollar bikes do. I built this bike the way I wanted it and I don't think anybody can tell me how it looked back in the 80's because there isn't any pictures out there (that I know of).....Well that's it.... I hope you like it as much as I do!

I will post better pictures, every time I tried to load them it didn't load. I will figure it out.

Thanks for looking!

Did you ever get this bike finished?  I'd love to see more current pics.

I don't ride a BMX bike to look cool to others, I do it because it's fun and never do I think "Boy I sure am cool on my BMX bike."

Re: 1982 California Custom 24

Just became a member of this forum and I know this is an old thread, but I used to race BMX in the early to mid 80's and was sponsored by California Custom BMX, along with a friend of mine.  Our home track was Ascot in Gardena, California, with the owner/sponsor living over in Torrance.  These were neat, small company made bikes.  Somewhere buried in the garage I think I still have my Cal Custom BNX jersey from our team!!!  Thanks for posting this, brought back a lot of good memories!
