1975 Mongoose Motomag

Complete totally original...1975...There was no need searching for parts for this one...She came totally...100% complete...right from 1975...!!!

So glad I finally finished this one up.  This bike...I feel...just stands out from the rest.  This bike has all of it's original parts from 1975...the only thing missing...is the top tube decal.  Everything on it is 100% original to the bike.  I tried cleaning up the chain as best as I could...but...for over 30 years old...it isn't in to bad of shape!  I've always wanted a '75 and this is just how I wanted it...100% OG.
I did add the black handle bar and stem pads...just to see how She would look.

Re: 1975 Mongoose Motomag

Thanks!  smile

A few people have asked me where I found her...

...The bike was originally sold from Landis Cyclery in Phoenix, AZ. If you look close enough in the pic below...you can see that the Landis Cyclery decal is still on the seat tube. The climate there in Phoenix...pretty much preserved the bike perfectly. She stayed there her whole life until I picked her up this past year.

The wheels were NEVER even removed...I was the first to take them off...to clean her up...!!!

Re: 1975 Mongoose Motomag

This bike is what it's all about Tom! This is why I keep searching. My 75 shorty came with the O.G. rims, stem and cranks but the paint and stickers had been removed long ago so I have a bare metal frame to work with. I would love to find one like this, you struck gold with this one.    cool

I'm always looking for early Mongoose frames with the lower gusset, 75-76 or early 77. And anything Ashtabula!!!
I NEED CLEAR HUNT WILDE GRIPS!!!  SEARCHING FOR SOME CARLISLE AGGRESSOR TIRES!!!
BLACK MESINGER SEAT!    NEED SOME DECOSTER FORKS!!!

Thanks Matt...!!!

It really means a lot coming from my fellow Mongoose Brethren... cool smile

My wife even likes this one...She actually took a picture of me with my '75...She did also call me a, "Dork".  But...She thought it was cool that the bike was a late model '75 just like myself...I was born in December of 1975.

tonguetonguetongue

So here we are...Two 1975's...I'm pretty much all original...with the exception of a few tattoos and a root canal... lol

Re: 1975 Mongoose Motomag

Yes, this Goose certainly is awesome. It was time you cleaned it up and gave it the TLC it deserved Tom! Well done. What makes this one stand out is that it's all original. So rare... Congrats. cool

BTW, like Matt, I also saw those T's on Ebay and thought about buying one... When I looked closely at the photo, I was pretty certain the bike on the shirt was a '76, not a '75. Is that right?

LOL...quite right Pete...!!!

When I received the shirt...I noticed it right away...I meant to message them and ask if they could re-do one for me with the correct year bike.  I might send them a pic of mine and ask now... wink

Too funny. Regardless, the shirt is still pretty cool. cool After you sell me this little '75 Goose Tom, I'll go ahead and make some new shirts with this authentic '75 on them. I'll give you a couple for free, no worries. cool

Re: 1975 Mongoose Motomag

Hey there, I found one all original. I can't make out serial number
Don't know if it's a '75 or '76. Can you tell me differences in serial number?
My bike looks like it was red or orange but painted yellow. Did they come in red or orange in '75? Can send pictures from phone if you like to yout email.
I would appreciate any info. You can give me. Thanks Dennis.
