Re: 1985 Hutch Hollywood

If all survivors look as good as this one, respect.
I´m wondering what you want to restore?

Re: 1985 Hutch Hollywood

Trust me, the picture makes it look better than the shape it is really in.

Re: 1985 Hutch Hollywood

I would say leave it as a survivor. But......theres alot of "purists" in the hobby that will be on your case about it. But it is your bike so do as you like! Very nice!!

Re: 1985 Hutch Hollywood

Here's another Hollywood where the chainstays are NOT welded lower.....and this appears to be a true survivor....interesting.  Good looking bike, don't touch it.

Re: 1985 Hutch Hollywood

The chainstays are NOT welded lower than the top tube.  Look again.  Also I didn't say I was trying to justify it, do you see my bike anywhere trying to pass it off as a Hollywood?   Nope.....sure don't and you won't either.

What I was trying to point out is that not all of the Hollywoods Hutch built had the chainstays welded lower than the top tube.  Even the bike pictured here in this ad w/Miranda didn't have it.

Re: 1985 Hutch Hollywood

Easy everybody. What stood out on this bike was that it did not have a serial number, but drilled forks. It was original, but different from the american made Hutchs w/ serial numbers. As for the welds, I thought only Judges had the lower seat tube welds - that was what made Judges different from the others. Could be wrong.

Re: 1985 Hutch Hollywood

What truely seperates the Hollywood is the rake in the forks.  The head tube angle on the frame was 73 deg.  the pro racer is 72 and the Judge is 74 1/2.  On some models the chainstays were welded lower, not on all.  Yours is a true survivor and looks great...don't touch it.
