1996 Standard Lengthy

a mid school project of mine.

i always wanted one since they came out but i couldnt afford $1200.00 for a bmx bike back in the day. i slapped this together like a couple maybe like three years ago. got the frame off of ebay. the dropouts been machined to fit the over size axles and there is a little ding behind the surf bar.  the front rim is a peregrine phat jacks. not sure what the back one is. it has a profile 3-pc crank with peregrine power peddles, standard fork, barz, and neck. im still not done with this project but if anyone knows where i can get the original frame stickers please let me know...

Re: 1996 Standard Lengthy

An owner of this frame sums it up best.

friend -"What frame you gonna buy next if yours breaks?"
me - "Not sure maybe a 2-hip.  What about you?"
friend - "I won't ever need to buy a new one."

Re: 1996 Standard Lengthy

I think the original frame stickers of earlier models had a 63 inside a circle then the word standard after.  Where to get them who knows now?!

Re: 1996 Standard Lengthy

i've been bugging Rick about these decals. he told me he could still get them from his original source, he is however, a very busy guy.sad

"This should be a no brainer guys. If you think the wife would disagree with the bike/price tell her "Honey, I bought this for you. I LUUVVVV you...". And then proceed to put it with your other bikes and tell her she can never ride it. lol"

Bike looks great, I've been looking for those bars forever for my tank project. Nice though.

Amen to that.... Out of all of the bikes that I have, my standard has got to be the toughest bike that I own.
