1982 Diamondback Harry Leary Turbo

First Generation Turbo.

This was a childhood bike bought at "The Bike Shop" on Alum Rock Road in San Jose, CA in late 1983. Price tag at the time was $509.95 (this thing sat on the showroom floor for a while).
Just like most Turbo's, I peeled off the original smoke finish when most of it got scratched. The frame, fork, bars, and cranks were re-smoked (powdercoated) by C4Labs.
Most of the parts I have are from the original bike, noted otherwise:
Frame:  DB Turbo
Fork:  DB Turbo (Not OG)
Bars:  DB Turbo (LARGE)
Grips:  Oakley F1’s (Not OG) (F-1 base, Fuan sleeves)
Stem:  DB Turbo/chrome (Sugino)
Headset:  MTX/black chrome (Tange)
Cranks:  DB Turbo/181’s (Sugino) (Driveside is not OG)
Chainring:  Aluminum 44T (Sugino)
Chain:  Nickel plated (D.I.D.)
Bottom bracket:  Sealed bearings (Sugino)
Pedals: DB pedals (SR) (Not OG)
Tires:  Retro Comp III’s
Rims: 7x/chrome 20 x 1.75 (Araya) (rear is not OG)
Hubs:  Sealed low-flange/chrome (Suzue) (rear is not OG)
Freewheel: 16T Chrome/Black (Suntour)
Front and back brakes:  890's/chrome (Dia-Compe)
Brake levers:  Pre-bents/chrome (Dia-Compe)
Brake cables:  Clear (Dia-Compe) (not OG)
Seat:  DB MX (Kashimax) (not OG)
Seat post:  DB Turbo/chrome (SR)
Seat post clamp:  chrome (SR)
Pads:  Frame/stem pads are NOS; Bar pad is a repop

Will add the DB suede seat and IRC DB Comp II tires when found!

Beautiful.  I've always had a soft spot for early Diamonback.  A few of my good buddies BITD rode some really nice ones.

Cool, a new bike.  Wait a minute.......where am I going to hide this one.  She's going to catch me for sure!!!
