Re: 1981 GT 26

Very rare to see a frame not built. My understanding about them being a limited run is not so much the numbers but just 2 years of production. Would be good to see some bigger pictures.

Thanks

Re: 1981 GT 26

Sorry for the delay in updates. I still haven't found the GT forks and it still needs a few minor details to complete. The good news is I got enough parts together to ride this beauty since July. So I've been enjoyin it so much I forgot I still need a few parts and I need to update my pics.

The tires obviously aren't Nos but they're some sweet hand made Contis that ride great here with the loose sand on pavement. The reflective strips work so well I have to include a pic just to show you how trippy they look.
[img][/img]http://i1027.photobucket.com/albums/y338/slimmcgee/IMAG2014.jpg

I'm not sure if I'm keeping the pro bars or if I will switch them over to cruisers. I'd like to find some blue/yellow unitrons to finish it off. Mostly just want to luck out and find some nice forks...not that the ones johnny true torch welded up aren't great. In fact, for the price they're killer and great job...thanks again Johnny.
So heres what I have so far, it rides so easy and smooth. thanks for looking.

Re: 1981 GT 26

Awesome! I love it. You should join our LA Beach Ride crew or even the SD crew. Look us up in the events thread....actually there is a SD bbq/ride going down on Sept. 24th.

Re: 1981 GT 26

I have one of these from the early 80's.  1981 frame numbered 381200.  What is the best way to go to put this bike in the right person's hands.  I raced it and rode it to class in college.  Have had it in the attic for the last 15 years.

Small world, our bikes were made the same month or maybe even closer. I still make it to the reunions but can make the rides anymore. Going to try to make the swap meet at Bike source later this month. I don't know why I didnt get notified when you guys replied to my post so long ago?

I saw Evan Miranda ripping on an old school GT 26 at the New England nationals. Skying triples up in the air by 30 ft
