1986 GT Performer

Bright orange GT Performer

Another bike imported from the US. This bike was originally blue but I always fancied an orange OS BMX so off went the old paint and on went the new powder and decals. Parts fitted to the bike include. Viscount aero seat. ACS 860 brakes. A'me tri grips. Original GT chainwheel and crank with SR pedals. NOS Mallet stem. Eighties Tuffs with Comp ST tyres. Thanks for looking...

Re: 1986 GT Performer

Thanks for the positive comments, guys.  This was a really inexpensive build.  I had the complete bike (originally blue) shipped from the States for a total of $300.  I sold the parts I didn't need for this build (stem, blue seat wheels and tyres, brakes, standers etc) which sold for a combined price of almost $300.   This meant, the f+f, bars, post and crank were, pretty much, free.

All I had to do was have it powdered, buy some grips, tyres, a seat and cables and I was done - I also had a (cheap) set of Tuffs which were a really dirty but I left them to soak in bleach for a week and they came out like new.

It just shows that you can build a nice OSBMX without breaking the bank  cool

Here is the bike before I started work on it.  It was a nice little survivor and could have been left as it was but i really wanted to build an orange Performer.  If I find another nice survivor like this, one I will leave it alone, promise roll
