1982 Hutch Pro Racer
1982 Hutch Pro Racer
My Pro Racer project
I bought this frame a few years back and have been sourcing parts ever since. I was patient and on a budget. I now have everything to build it. Early GT pro bars, both straight and layback posts, Kashimax Aero, DK stem and Hutch headlock, Redline 401 single pinch full wrap with bubble font sprocket, Araya 7X with GT hubs, and an Dia Comp MX901 with Tech 4 lever. And Zap Pads too.
Cool, a new bike. Wait a minute.......where am I going to hide this one. She's going to catch me for sure!!!

That'll be a great ride when you find where you put your pieces. It actually looks good already just waiting for assembly.

Re: 1982 Hutch Pro Racer
Thanks for the comments guys. I found a nice set of shine side black Ukai's that might look better. How do you like the purple and blue spokes on those Araya's? I should have bought the early Robinson that they came from. It was seriously pimped by the owner. I grabbed everything but the frame. He was a little sentimental as it was his first and favorite from back in the day. I let him keep it and we were both happy.

Re: 1982 Hutch Pro Racer
Did you decide on the final color that will compliment this sweet ride? I love that blue kashi so I would build around that. mostly chrome with hints of blue would be sweet

Re: 1982 Hutch Pro Racer
That's exactly what I was thinking. It seems weird to build a bike around a seat, but once I got it, I started thinking the same thing. I'm not sure though. Blue seems to belong on GT's while black is the color of choice for a Chrome Pro Racer. I have the feeling that This bike will be built multiple times until I'm comfortable with the result. Your bikes don't help NorCal66!
So many sweet ways to finish a Hutch. This will be my opus bike.

Re: 1982 Hutch Pro Racer
Ironic that I can only look at my own bikes on the museum.
They're all boxed or hanging in Idaho. The hutch is all there now, minus the flights. I was looking for them right up to the moment I closed the door and left the state.
