1969 Schwinn Heavy Duty

Heavy duti cruiser, one of the first cruisers that made a great bmx style 26" cruiser.

Classic 1969 Schwinn Heavy duti cruiser. A bike made for heavy duti service, found mostly in work yards, equipped with front and rear baskets, these bikes where often used as work horses. Extra long chain stay tubes where advertised as giving extra room for workers wearing work boots.
This bike was lovingly restored,we shaved off the kickstand bracket that was welded to lower chain stay tubes, then powder coated sparlkly silver base, with a clear overcoat. For a metalic silver look. Reminicent of 1970 style metallic paint jobs. With a vintage set of  Araya 7x rims on Shimano hubs. DT black heat treated spokes. Profile bottom bracket, 48 spline shaft with SE retro chro-mo crank arms, 180mm. Tuffnek spider with Addics 40 tooth sprocket bolted on inside of spider. 18 tooth rear cassette sprocket. VP bearclaw pedals. (used to have BULLSEYE platforms see close up) S&M pro bars. Red"Proneck" stem. Ame grips. Advocet leather seat. MX1000 brakes with oversize Shimano mtb brake lever. SE landing gear forks.  One of the smoothest riding cruisers I have ever assembled.  SOLD
