1987 GT Pro Freestyle Tour Team

This bike was owned and signed by Eddie Fiola.  Team GT did a show at a bike shop in Cleveland in 1988.  After the show the bike was raffled off.  Well, the owner of the bike shop's son won the raffle(imagine that).  The bike then sat for sale for a couple of years in the bike shop because the price was so high.  It eventually sold and this is who I got the bike from.  I picked it up this summer and have been trying to verify it's authenticity.  Johnny Qwest a member here, helped me out and got in touch with Eddie.  He said it was HIS BIKE and he had signed it.  I got the reply today and I am as giddy as a school girl.  Thanks Johnny! and Thanks Eddie for taking the time to help.

Thanks a bunch guys.  I can't tell you how excited I was to find out it was for real.  I'm glad someone else likes it as much as I do.

Re: 1987 GT Pro Freestyle Tour Team

What a cool bike, and even better story. The best part to me is that not only is it signed by Eddie and that he was a nice enough guy to confirm this. The coolest thing is that it was actually his rider! Not some pristine out of the crate showpiece never actually ridden, but Eddie Fiola's FREAKIN' BIKE. Awesome ride man!

Re: 1987 GT Pro Freestyle Tour Team

I still have it!  This bike came to me by completely blind luck.  I was selling a GT on ebay and the owner contacted me.  He told me about it and I was very skeptical.  He sent me some pics and we agreed on a price.  He lived just 2 hours away.  It was the same guy who would later sell another Day-Glo Team Model on ebay for $1700.  The one with the Ferrari's in the back ground.  He was a super nice guy.  I'm very proud to be it's caretaker!
