2010 Skull Skates Performance 26

26" BMX Cruiser

I had the frame and forks shipped to the UK in the summer of 2010. It took about 6 months to assemble the parts I wanted - Takagi Tourney Cranks, GT Mohawk hubs, Odyssey Triple Trap pedals, 1" Profile stem, laid back seat post - all NOS. And then I completed the build with modern parts - which was partly down to budget and partly not wanting the bike to be a museum piece - I will be riding this bike a lot - so I had the wheels built with MTB rims, the BB was modernised with DMR Wonder Cups, and I chose Fly Cruiser bars as they were easy to get hold of and a good price - ideally I want some Knight or L&S cruiser bars, but that's for later. Its the first bike I have built up from scratch and I'm pretty happy with it. The Brooks saddle may not be to everybody's taste, but I like it and I am sure it will be comfortable. Oh and the last thing to mention is that the tires are Kenda Small Block 8's / 1.95 / folding
Now with Knight C-Dub cruiser bars & have replaced the Triple Traps with JP Pro Rounds

cool. have not seen anything skulls skates since the 80's. i ordered a pair of gloves from the back of a thrasher rag.

Nice build - looks great...! My next project is going to be a SKULL cruiser. These are limited edition to 100 right? What's your serial nuber? I better get one before they are sold out. I heard PD is going to launch a limited 24" cruiser this year.

The bike was produced in a run of 100, but most of those were set up as completes. The 'frame & forks' only were available in limited numbers.

Nice build! I'm not keen on the saddle personally, but definitely suits the bike.

I need this . I used to order decks and wheels from Skull Skates throughout the late 80's . This cruiser is rad !!!!

Great build, really like what you've done with it. You might be the only guy with one of these in all of the UK!
I have one too, but its all original.
