1982 Diamondback Silver Streak

My Non-Ghetto 82 SS wink

Yup, un-ghettofied. Had to put this one up so the grouches that whined about my other 82 SS would be happy. So, are ya'll happy? lol...

Thanks, Ful. I also have an 83 Silver Streak, but it's just a frame and forks ATM. I'll build it and put it up one day. smile

Re: 1982 Diamondback Silver Streak

very phyched to soon be BUILDING A DIAMOND BACK II  A 80 OR 81 NOT SURE WHICH YEAR IT IS YET!!      CAN NOT WAIT FOR IT TO GET HERE MANAGED TO SCORE A STAMPED SET OF DB BARS ALLREADY + DB LOGO GRIPS AND STEM

JUST WONDERING IF ANYBODY REMEMBERS THAT DBS WERE TOTALY MENT TO RACE, BEAT, FIGHT, HEAD TO HEAD WITH THE MONGOOSE

MONGOOSES ARE KNOWN TO FIGHT SNAKES AKA  COBRA'S.......WELL WE AIN'T GOT COBRA'S IN THE USA  BUT WE SURE HAVE RATTLESNAKES........AKA    DIAMOND BACK RATTLERS ,JUST AS DEADLY AS ANY COBRA

SO FOR MY 1ST TWO BUILDS IN 20 YEARS  TO BE A OLD 81 MONGOOSE AND NOW A 80 OR 81 DIAMOND BACK I COULDENT HAVE PICKED 2 BETTER  BIKES TO BUILD......TO GET BACK TO BMX

Get busy livin or get busy dyin......dam right

Re: 1982 Diamondback Silver Streak

I did the exact same thing 79mongoose. These seemed to be the two bikes around our neighborhood that went head to head. We all use to race each other and the Diamondback almost always came out on top. I use to let friends use my DB to race and they'd win against the other geese. I still love the goose though, but my kid bike was DB Senior Pro. Here they are if you want to check them out.

If you want to know the year of yours, the serial number reads like this:
the first number is the year
the letter is the month
and the rest of the numbers is what production number it was.
Here's an example: 4A0705
This would be 1984, April or August, 705th one made that year.
I picked this up from someone on this site. Sorry I can't remember who so i can give them props.
Good luck with the build.
Hey Fox, looking forward to the next build. I need to do another one again. It's freaking addictive!
