1987 Redline RL-20II
1987 Redline RL-20II
Prostyler inspired
Redline RL-20II frame and fork, Redline Forklifter handlebars/stem/plate, 401 Flight cranks with Redline true mid-80s font chainring, re-pop Techmatic sealed BB, Suntour XC-II pedals, Skyway OG metal flange Tuff IIs/Peregrine HP 48 wheels, Dia-Compe Nippon front brake, Odyssey Pitbull rear brake, Dia-Compe Tech 5 levers, Peregrine seat post clamp, GT seat post, Elina Flyte Tech seat, Kenda Panaracer-style freestyle tires, AME bubble font Tri grips.
I bought this F/F to replace my RL20II I bought back in 87 and unfortunately sold in 2003. Since getting back into BMX last year, I knew this is what I wanted to build first but a little different than the one I had back then. I have seen many nice builds in the museum, but did not necessarily want to follow the exact path they did or match catalogs/ads that I'd seen recently. All my bikes are riders and this one is no different. I appreciate all comments. Enjoy…
EDIT: I switched out my Peregrines to Skyways to be different. I like it…

I can confirm... this is a sweet ride! Good job, James!
Escaped Detroit and lived to tell about it...
My main ride: '88 RL-20II survivor.
Once, there was group ride in Billings Montana...only one dude showed up...

This is one of my favorites on the bmxmuseum. Very cool set up. I'm always a fan of the build it to ride method. ![]()
I can't wait to see what you build next.

Re: 1987 Redline RL-20II
Current set-up picts. The only thing I might change out would be the levers, but pretty much done.

Re: 1987 Redline RL-20II
Nice, the Skyways actually go with the original prostyler theme better. What I think would make it even better: lose GT decal, black seat, black and white B1 grips
