1978 Team Murray

Original 1978 model, manufactured in 1980, all parts are originals till the wheels (DAE YUNG 1980 Made In Korea), it just hasn't plastic caps on the rear wheel and rear reflective, It was bought in JCPenney Charlotte NC. at Dec. 1980. The time goes too fast, when I saw my back my bmx was a classic, Nice to share with you these photos.

Re: 1978 Team Murray

My first bmx bike ever! It didn't take long for the reflectors and chain guard to get ripped off. Rode the hell out of that bike. Thanks for taking me back in time wink

Ahh yes, the 330 plate.  Whited out the 3 and the 0 and I was #3 on the track back in the day!

Re: 1978 Team Murray

My first new bike too!  Wow!  I remember adding stickers to the plate then taking if off altogether.  The bike went through a bunch of changes - as I can recall: changed brakes to gold Shimano's, with matching lever; Oakley I and then II grips; Addicks sprocket in red with chrome spider; tried a non-Mongoose gold double clamp stem that ended-up cracking under the weight of my newspaper carrier bags; switched to a regular Ashatabula style forged single clamp stem; red Tuff Wheel II's; Snakebelly in the rear and a Carlisle Agressor in the front; Sun Tour seat post clamp then Addicks clamp; tried a Hare Trigger brake lever for a while, then Haro lever, then back to Shimano with a yellow sleeve; eventually peeled off all frame stickers; later dad painted frame red.  There might have been other changes, but those are the one's I remember most.  Then got a Cycle Pro S/L that also went through a whole bunch of upgrades.  What awesome times those were!
