That frame looks like it's in pretty good shape!  I've never seen a 16" Pro Thunder before.  Great score for $5.00.  Too bad the decals are gone.

Re: 1981 Huffy Pro Thunder 16

I wish I had the space for another.  Almost done with the first pro thunder, and then on to the second.  Maybe in a few months down the road...
Post up some pics of you riding that thing!

Re: 1981 Huffy Pro Thunder 16

ok, you guys asked for it...
looks like i can hop really high, cuz the bike is soo small. I wore the hlemet, cuz I thought the bike might break at anytime, with my 200+ lbs riding it!

Re: 1981 Huffy Pro Thunder 16

put some bigger handle bars and a higher seat on it and it could be a cheap crapy pit bike big_smile

Re: 1981 Huffy Pro Thunder 16

I had a black 16" Pro Thunder in 1981, got it when I was in kindergarten, still had it when I was in 5th grade. What a pain, getting made fun and catching a lot of crap for being 11 and having a 16" bike.

I can remember wanting a chrome 20" bmx bike and my mom saying "What do you need a new bike for it's just going to get stolen." Then my dad going on about how the chrome would get rusty and flake off. After another bout of teasing my dad took me to the bike shop and I got a baby blue Diamondback Viper in '87. Man I loved that bike and rode it for years then put it up. In 2009 I called home saying I was coming for a visit and I was taking my bike and my dad told me he just dropped it off at goodwill, and why would I want a kid's bike still?!. gaaahhhhhhhhhh!
