Ok this does it! (timeline and slight rant about Haro kneesaver)
Why is there so many people selling these mid-90's Haro Kneesaver bars as if they were made in the 80's because they are not?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi … 2759.l1259
And when the link dies, here's images for reference.
Mid-90's Haro Kneesaver, flat chevron caps, high crossbar and overall high rise bars, thick tubing
Mid-90's Haro Kneesaver again, flat chevron caps, high crossbar and overall high rise bars, thick tubing
Late 80's to 1990-1991 bare chrome Haro Kneesaver, curved chevron caps, low crossbar
Late 80's half painted Haro Kneesaver, curved chevron caps, medium-low to low crossbar
Late mid-90's (1996-97 or so) Haro Kneesaver II, flat chevron caps and.. well this obvious isn't it?

Bugs the crap out of me too. I can't find the real 80's so I've been bidding on the later style and stopping where they are worth to me and always outbid. If they were the real 80's I would pay more. What about the $99 set with $50 shipping...HOLY COW!

Is 24" wide the norm for those bars or were they cut? Id like some early kneesavers myself!

No you don't. Post number two is 1995-ish, you don't want them. I don't want them. Nobody wants them.

They are hella cut. Should be more less 28". That's another thing which annoys me shamelessly CUT OLD BARS sold as "original".

I was in the same boat. I wanted the first gen kneesavers. Like this one:
No one is selling those. They are hard to come by....and are very pricey if you found one. Motleymick sold me the second gen ones like these:
I am happy. They are in good shape and since I am not willing to spend 100.00 plus dollars for the first gen ones. ![]()

Re: Ok this does it! (timeline and slight rant about Haro kneesaver)
yeah, post 91 kneesavers are not nice, the crossbar is too high, and the bend is awkward, actually my faves were some squared out slightly narrower at the grip area, and very narrow at the stem area kneesavers that came out in 89-90,I remeber dmc had some on a hooligan in the NY meet the street in 1990.I had two pairs of those and they were the best I ever rode.

these were the bars,
my second favorite knees were these:

cool...kneesavers ruled, and really boosted my riding back then...

I had them on my 91 master, Loved them. I agree the later models are no where near as nice

I have some that I sent to C4 labs. When they get home I will post them. I put a set from 87 next to some peregrine Q bars. They are almost the same thing. I will show when I get them back.

Re: Ok this does it! (timeline and slight rant about Haro kneesaver)
We need someone to reproduce these in the proper specs. They could stamp them any logo they want so people would know they are reissues. I would be down for 5 sets if we could find someone who would do them right. What do you guys think?

Its a matter of comfortability, function and killer alien looks for me. Am I the only one who looks at these and thinks about the movie Predator? Just the shape is what I mean.

Re: Ok this does it! (timeline and slight rant about Haro kneesaver)
Shit I would send a set to give reference. Uncut with no damage except cosmetic chrome pitting. I would have to have them back when they are in production tho. To put back on the FST.
