2000 GT Tour 2

Here is a 2000 GT Tour-2 that I restored. It used to be black but I decided to paint it white since I have not ever seen a white Tour in this frame style. I only had the 1999 Tour-2 decals so I used them instead of the 2000 Tour-2 decals. The black paint was in realy bad shape when I got it and the stock decals were also missing. Since I was bringing the bike back to life again, white seemed to be a fitting color to symbolize the rebirth of the bike. I had fun building the bike and it looks like a bike that GT may have made if they didnt go bankrupt in 2001. There are alot of stock Tours on the museum and I thought that a custom one would be a nice addition.
Frame- 2000 GT Tour-2 frame with a CNC'ed built on gryo tabs, and a CNC'ed built in seat clamp, the frame is made of 100% 40130 chromoly, (Color-Gloss White) 19.95 inch top tube

Bar ends- NEW GT metal bar ends, they are made specificaly for 1 inch bars and chrome plated
Brake Levers- Odyssey Modu-levers, made of aluminium with hinged clamps for easy removal, the levers are large so you can get 4 fingers on them and get alot of torque for extra braking power
Cable Detangler- Odyssey Gyro-XL system with a NEW rear aluminium cable hanger and NEW Odyssey Modu-lever upper cable, the bottom cable is a NEW Odyssey lower cable, the frame has a lower detangler plate that is built into the frame on for less flex, NEW staddle cable and NEW cable hanger
Front Brake Cable- NEW Odyssey slick cable with cable housing
Handlebar Grips- NEW GT freestyle
Seat- NEW Powerlite Ejection seat, 9mm chromoly seat rails, the seat has kevlar outer covering for durablility
Seat Post- GT 26.0mm seat post, chromoly with engraved GT logo
Seat Post Clamp- Built into frame for extra clearance during tricks
Stem- GT Piston stem, made of aluminium, threadless (1 and 1/8 inch)
Chain Wheel- NEW GT 39 tooth made of CNC'ed aluminium, the gearing is 39 x 14 and is the same ratio as the stock 44 x 16 gearing, the new gearing is lighter and gives more chain clearance than the stock gearing but has the same top speed as the stock gearing

Rims- NEW Weinmann Zac-21 rims, made of high polished aluminium and have 36 spoke holes, 1.75 width and Made in the USA
Hubs- NEW GT Mohawk hubs, 36 hole, aluminium bodies with chromoly axles, the rear hub is also a flip-flop hub so you can use any freewheel that is a 16 tooth or higher on one side and any freewheel that is 15 tooth or lower on the other side, the rear hub has sealed cartridge bearings
Spokes and Nipples- NEW spokes and NEW nipples
Rear FreeWheel- NEW ACS Claws 14 tooth freewheel, chromoly
Headset- NEW Pig headset, extra large heavy duty aluminium cups, (sealed cartridge bearings)
Brakes- NEW Dia-Compe Hombre 990 brakes, made of aluminium and NEW brake pads
Pegs- GT deep socket pegs, extra large 50mm diameter (about the size of a pop can or soda can), GT logos and anti-spin screws on the front and rear pegs so the pegs are locked in place and dont move, the pins can be used in 3 seperate holes for longer peg life so when one side gets worn out you can move the screw

Re: 2000 GT Tour 2

yikes yikes...you must have been in my mind lately! Really..

I've been re-doing my submitted 2000 GT Tour in white but using more of the stock parts this time!
I will be submitting another red GT Tour so i decided that this is a reason for a change wink

Your Tour 2 looks great in white! And the Tour parts make it even better.
I've always wanted a white version of these bikes after i had seen the gloss white 2000 GT Performer back in the early 00's.
