1985 General Hustler Pro

Early Hustler Pro

I paid $50 for this bike about 15 years ago. It was complete and all original. I rode it for about 2 years straight then sprayed it flat black when bought a new GT. It was then pulled apart and I had the frame painted blue by a body shop. My father threw out the brakes and the rotor was removed by a bike shop when I brought it in for a tune up after i first bought it. I want to restore it back original.

Re: 1985 General Hustler Pro

the calipers look like changstar 980's which I think was the number,I believe the bike is a 1986 model.

Re: 1985 General Hustler Pro

can you post pics of the calipers and levers? and a pic from the right side? and also pics of the stem.   i need a new one as mine is stipped out i think.  need to know what kind it is.

does it have a cable guide on the upper bearing raise for a rotor?  mine does.

i thought mine had differnt lettering.  i thought there was purple in it.  i guess i was wrong though.  it was so long ago that i last saw it as it was new.   i checked the lettering on the forks and it looks the same.

also i think it is pre '86, because '86 i think was the first year Osborne and Blood signed on with them. i think these bikes were from before that.
