Re: 1982 Redline MX-II

Its kinda hard to determine what year these Redlines are as they didnt use serial #'s as a easy to understand timeline. Either way it looks like youve got the right decals on there and its most definitley early 80s. Nice start, polish that stem and build er up.

Re: 1982 Redline MX-II

Heres the latest version of mine. Just scored these Arayas at a swap meet last weekend. $3 for the front and $6 for the rear! Also swaped my Ame grips for some Ourys and a silver ACS clamp for the black. Ive got to find a good polisher here in LA so I can get some work done. Is it $pendy?

Re: 1982 Redline MX-II

Those decals and some of the parts seem original.
The bike is a 1982 but the frame is an MX-III. The correct model for it is the 600.
The 600 came with those 1 piece cranks. The 700 came with 3 piece.
Other then that the 600 and 700 that year were identical. Nice find!!!

FYI the cranks, sprocket, gold seat clamp and post and the stem all seem original. The front rim may be also.
The ad doesnt show the black bike but it does come in black and other colors according to the ad.
The bars, seat and back wheel and tires and grips are all ad ons.

Re: 1982 Redline MX-II

I know you dont have the bike anymore, but do you remember where you got the frame decals for it? The large top-tube "R" sticker is hard to find and I need one for my 82 MXII. I'd appreciate it...
