Lower that seat post. Not sure how tall or heavy you are, but...

Re: 1980 SE Racing P.K. Ripper
i'm six two and 210, the seat was a padded one i found that was gold so i thought it would be good for this fat ass.
thanks,

I agree, the seat has to go. I mentioned your weight and height because so many of those frames are cracked at the seat post mast. Would hate to see it happen to this one.

Re: 1980 SE Racing P.K. Ripper
you like the seat, so I'll leave that alone. The rims and tires aren't singing to me. Maybe a black rim with silver spokes and either black or gold hubs, with some skinwalls. That being said, there are lots of good things about your bike too; I like the gold and black.

Re: 1980 SE Racing P.K. Ripper
I say ditch the seat, add a brake cable, and brighten it up with some white grips and white seat to match the Z-rims. Let me know if you decide the frame/fork won't hold you as I'd be interested.

Re: 1980 SE Racing P.K. Ripper
good idea, i had the rims so i used them, i will keep my eyes open, i have a couple of old gt seats from the 80's but my fat ass doesn't like them.
maybe a padded pair of pants.

Re: 1980 SE Racing P.K. Ripper
I like the colors...white or tan grips would be nice. the seat......whoa...gotta go. i dont make many neg comments cause taste is different. that things just doesnt even come close. I'm 6'1" 235 and I have a new velo on both my bikes 20 inch and cruiser... Since when does a 6'2" guy ride a 20 incher sittin' down anyway...LOL
The tall hight will be an issue on the seat post clamp area..it a well known weak area.

Re: 1980 SE Racing P.K. Ripper
man, i guess the disco seat has to go, i sit on all my bikes, but i use them to ride to the bar, and coming home is when the fatty seat is needed, maybe i will leave this one home.
