1986 Redline Prostyler

My Redline

I have owned this bike since day one. I always said I'd keep it forever. I Still have the original sales receipt for it! The original crank I broke. I later replaced with 3 piece GT Power Series. I also broke the original bars (Odyssee Flying Wedge), Redline forklifter neck, the Diacompe nippon brakes, and just about anything else that could break. I recently dug through some old parts and restored the bike to this. It has an old set of GHP bars on it now with the original Peregrine 48's(been straightened a few times but still roll true! I replaced he brakes with Dia-Compe Bulldogs front and rear squeezed off by Tech 77's. The Viscount seat and ALPS BMX post I found in my parts box too. I had a lot of fun bringing this bike back from the dead. I just might let my ten year old ride it!

Great original ride - I love the red Redlines.  And yes, let your ten-year-old ride it...just make sure you get your turn!

Love that you've held onto it.  More I search this site the more I kick myself for not doing the same.  Always liked Red the best.

It's an internet chat board.  Relax.

Awesome ride man. Seems like only yesterday I was riding mine out of the Kona showroom floor. Like you, before your knew it all the original parts were replaced with new ones especially the pads and God-awful stock handlebars not the Flying Wedges. Wish I still had mine!

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Oh man, thank you for posting this, I've been trying to remember exactly what mine looked like and after seeing yours, it all came back... :-(  I'm looking for one as well.
