It was a good time. Unfortunately there wasn't any competition in my category so 3 out of 5 of my bikes  placed. There was a Skyway T/A and A Schwinn Nighthawk in the BMX Original category. Sadly I don't recall who placed first. I will check with BicycleRick and see which won. There weren't any bikes in the BMX or Freestyle restored category.

So all you who could have come but didn't or couldn't you'll know to come next time when they have it again in March. I picked up some Killer metal flange Tuffs with the old font logo, some Mavic SUP rims, and a set of 3-piece SE cranks/bb. There were some other great killer pars, frames etc...but i couldn't buy it all.

Along with BicycleRick (Shop Owner and coordinator) I saw KCMOBMX and Reverbtank as well. It was a great time and it seems that each swap/show or swap I help promote we get at least 1 or 2 more BMX guys there to sell so I will keep spreading the word of BMX and freestyle throughout the land until March when the next good swap and show in my area (Kansas City Metro) arrives.

I get this question often so here it is to save everyone time. I do not have any Mongoose DMC decals left. I was lucky enough to find a small bunch of NOS decal sets in an old bike shop that no longer exists and I have since sold them all. Sorry. I wish you all the best of luck with your DMC builds.

The best insult ever and, I say it often is, "Who is this clown?" because, 1. You're calling them a clown 2. You're saying they're not even a well known clown.

Re: You all down with the sickness? Peddlers Old School bike show pics

Thanks guys for the compliments. I really worked hard the last week assembling 4 out of 5 of these. I really only started my prep, cleaning , polishing  and assembly within the last week for this show. Luckily the Freedom 1 was already assembled and ready to go. I just had to wipe it down.

Strangely enough it got a lot of looks and prompted several discussions. I guess many of the enthusiasts there were collectors of Western Flyers from the 50's and such so they were impressed to see an 80's model bmx.

I am glad I went with the tuffs on the orange instead of uni covers. It almost worked out that way. I got the tuffs on another Orange predator this summer and was seriously thinking of running them on an 82 mongoose with all orange parts. That build fell to the wayside for now. Also once I put the white tires on the tuffs I knew they belonged together.

After going through these pics I realize there were some things tat I could have done differently as far as displaying the bikes...but I was rather busy and had run out of time.

For example...pedal positions to properly show the label and such. Adjust and straighten the pads. Better arrangement, individual stands etc.

Oh yeah forgot to mention that I am not done with the Goose yet so it isn't for sale. My wife has taken a liking to it so I will have to wait until she tires of it.

Love the lavender on the Goose.  My original T/A (back in the 80's) was all chrome with white Tuffs and purple components.  Looks sweet.  That orange is just AWESOME!  My buddy's brother has a Free Form Z in baby blue that he has had since new.  Takes me back!  Great collection.

Re: You all down with the sickness? Peddlers Old School bike show pics

Duck and KCMO - good to meet you guys. Sorry I couldn't chat more, but my boys were getting antsy - 3 and 5 can be SO patient. Haha. Anyway, Duck, the orange on that Predator was just mind-numbing. Such a sweet bike. And, KCMO, you tempted me greatly with that Standard F/F. Glad to see you sold it, though.

I just posted a few more photos and a story up on BMX Roots. Check it out: http://bmxroots.com/

Re: You all down with the sickness? Peddlers Old School bike show pics

I tried to make it. If you remember, I had two BMX displayed in March. I now have 6 and could have been in both BMX categories. Only my friends, who were sick of listening to me, know how sick I was to miss this. I WILL be there in March as long as I can find tax money and don't have to sell them! Ha.

Great pics. Sorry I couldn't make it. I tried. I know traffic would have been fun for me to battle the Chiefs game...

Great pics.

Re: You all down with the sickness? Peddlers Old School bike show pics

Yeah we missed you Dave. There is always next time and I know you won't disappoint us with whatever you decide to bring.

KCMO sold the standard? Wow...I was actually having second thoughts about that Sunday night. Ahh well, I guess I didn't want it that bad after all.

Yeah , Jeremy I understand about the kids...hehe they reminded me of my son! Hehe he is 3.5 and is always curious about everything going on.

Great pictures of the swap by the way! Thanks for the coverage! I'll pass this on to the Peddlers crew.

And Jake's S&M was simply devine wasn't it? great bike!
