1980 Diamond Back TK (AKA ole' blue)

Rare Non- Looptail frame

I got this bike for $30 and it had cruiser bars on it,24" shock forks and really ugly flat cruiser pedals. This is a hard to find non-looptail TK version .I saved it from ugliness and sanded to bare metal(it was repainted a couple times, origional looked candy red?). . With help from members I got this bike built up, Thanks to all. All Finished March of 2008.

Re: 1980 Diamond Back TK (AKA ole' blue)

What you have there is a rare 'Team' Diamond Back frame. They also did a Team Pro-Star model but this had a 'D' cut out in the gussutt. There's a white frame in the museum

As for the decals, that's a difficult one, but if you contact me via my website link I'll be more than happy to send you some literature I have.

Mark

Re: 1980 Diamond Back TK (AKA ole' blue)

I dont know it seems to be a tough find. And probably worth a big chunk more then the $30 I paid.

Re: 1980 Diamond Back TK (AKA ole' blue)

Not much to add to this apart from amending that it's an early non looptail (1980 ish), not a 'Team' as presented in my above post.

DiamondBack also produced one with a Centurion guesset which was also later used for the 'Work' Pro-Star.

You can see the Centurion gussett below
