1987 Haro Sport

This Haro is a replica of the '86 Haro Sport that Ron Wilkerson rode at the beginning of the movie "RAD".

In 2002 I started to build my dream BMX. The '86 Haro Sport that Ron Wilkerson (my freestyle hero) rode at the beginning of the movie "RAD".
I finally finished it in November 2010, but could only find White Peregrine Masters...until last year (2015) when I finally found the Grey Masters!
Now, 13 years later my dream build is COMPLETE.
All parts, with the exception of the F&F, Bars and Masters, are NOS.
I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I do.
Cheers!

Re: 1987 Haro Sport

VERY cool!!! Out of all the bikes from the film, I like Ron's bike the best. It must the the mags, I dunno?

I think this is the same bike he rode in the movie...

Now, you have to get Ron to autograph it for ya! The ultimate replica movie prop, right there! wink

Don't mind me. I'm just here to look at pictures.

Re: 1987 Haro Sport

Yeah, it’s definitely an ’87 frame – S/N H8711509. I couldn't find an '86 sport frame anywhere here (Melb, Aust).
That video is awesome Roboprop & yeah, it does look like the exact same bike.
Cheers for the comments guys.

Re: 1987 Haro Sport

thats an 86 frame that musta been left over in 87 and got an 87 serial..because most 87s have the goofy cut off looking rear platforms

Nice bike. Its actually and 87 FST/FSX. Notice the wrap head tube gusset and the rear platforms. Either way its a great build!

Re: 1987 Haro Sport

Looks awesome, you just need the gray Peregrines, and you'd be golden!  I've always wanted to build a RAD replica, but the gray peregrine master mags are hard to find, and spendy when you do find them.

I knew something looked funny on that 86, saw that head tube, and thought it looked off.

Sweet bike though, that is for sure!

I actually think that's how it was mounted in the movie. Rad bike for sure.
