1981 Quicksilver MKII

1981 Quicksilver MKII

From Competition Development

This is my second Quicky, its not a Team as there is no T on the serial number (thats about the only difference that i know though). I just call it a Mk11 as they have the same front end as the Mk1, but has the thruster type rear end. No matter what its correct name is, It's a keeper !!!

Can never have to many Quicksilvers

Re: 1981 Quicksilver MKII

Just an update.
This is a Type 2 Quicksilver in optional [at extra cost] Chrome finish. This frame model was produced from September 1981 & they were a full CroMo race frame. They are also highly sought after these days.

The red stickers are for the genuine Team model [factory race model from December 1979 to August 1981]
The Team frame used a matchbox behind the B/B shell & also a tubular brake bridge but otherwise looked quite similar in a side view.

The original stickers would have been yellow [up to about March/April 1982]
Gold was used from then onwards.

Lookin' good.

I'll keep building bikes till I die, & maybe a couple of days after that. Quicksilver
It's Aussie for "BMX"
